Porto, Portugal – June 14, 2023
The secure communication platform Adyta.Phone Federation has today received a security certification awarded by the National Security Office (GNS).
Adyta.Phone Federation includes an encrypted communication application, available for Android and iOS devices, entirely developed by Adyta in Portugal.
This solution stands out from other communication platforms on the market because it features a transparent business model: clients pay a subscription for a service rather than providing personal or corporate data.
Under Decree-Law No. 3/2012, of January 16, as currently in force, the GNS is responsible for evaluating, accrediting, and certifying the security of products and systems for communications, IT, and information technologies that support the handling, storage, and transmission of Classified Information (CI).
The certification process, conducted by the GNS, included an independent technical evaluation by a team from the Institute for Systems and Computer Engineering Innovation (INOV), which carried out intensive tests and verifications of the solution according to a defined protection profile, providing the necessary assurance to manage CI under a set of pre-established conditions.
For Carlos Carvalho, CEO da Adyta: “This certification has long been a key objective for our secure communication product, Adyta.Phone. It confirms that the solution has the robustness and reliability required for use in scenarios involving classified information, while also providing all users with proven information protection capabilities. This is a moment of great pride for everyone at Adyta, entirely due to the work our team has dedicated to developing this product. We are proud to have brought this innovation to fruition and will continue to enhance the application, introducing new features and improvements.”
With this certification, Adyta.Phone joins the exclusive group of technological solutions in Portugal certified by the GNS, authorized to handle Classified Information (CI) at the National Reserved level.
NCurrently, it is the only Portuguese-origin solution with active certification, as listed on the GNS website (https://www.gns.gov.pt/pt/cert-comerciais/).
Carlos Carvalho, CEO da Adyta, added “Adyta.Phone is available to all Android and iOS users worldwide, with exactly the same robustness and reliability validated by this certification from the GNS. The version tested was our commercial application. Today, when information security is critical—personally, corporately, and governmentally—it is essential that people can trust the tools they use for communication. This certification confirms exactly that: if Adyta.Phone is certified for use in scenarios involving Classified Information, it is also capable of protecting the information of all its users, even if they are not transmitting classified data, ensuring their communications remain fully secure.”
